The Number of Elderly Population in Seoul Metropolitan City and the Present Condition of Service Facilities in Borough Unit

Abstract
Objectives : The purpose of this study is to identify the percentage of elderly people in Seoul and to pro-vide a basis for social role to prepare for the aging society by grasping the status of service provision facilities. Methods : From 2011 to 2015, the data was collected and analyzed which was registered in the National Statistical Office and the organizations reported the establishment. Conclusion : The number of elderly population in Seoul is much in the order of Eunpyeong-gu, Nowon-gu and Songpa-gu, and the aging rate is rapid in the order of Gangbuk-gu, Dobong-gu and Gangdong-gu. In the case of long-term care facilities for the elderly, There are large number of institutions in the order of Gangseo-gu, Nowon-gu and Yangcheon-gu. In the case of the elderly leisure welfare facilities, there are many institutions in the order of Gangseo-gu, Nowon-gu and Yangcheon-gu. Seoul Metropolitan City is the third largest city of the percent-age of elderly people in the metropolitan city, the elderly have long-term care facilities at the same time, and the elderly leisure and welfare facilities are distributed evenly in each district.
